Damlataş Cave is one of the most famous caves of our country, located on the seaside in Alanya district of Antalya . The cave, which is 3 km away from Alanya town center, was found by chance as a result of dynamite firing in 1948 at the point determined as a stone quarry to be used in the construction of the port. The cave is the first cave opened to tourism in Turkey.

At the entrance of the cave, located on the west coast of the historical Alanya Castle, after a 50-meter passage, a cylindrical cavity descends to the floor. It has been determined that Damlataş Cave, whose temperature is 22.3 degrees in summer and winter, has 4 different features that are good for asthma. It is known that the first two of the factors such as carbon dioxide and high humidity in the environment are good for asthma, and the other two are considered as auxiliary factors.

Damlataş Cave is one of the most well-known caves in Turkey . Located within the borders of Alanya district of Antalya, the cave is 3 km away from Alanya town center, on the west coast of the historical Alanya Castle . The cave, which was found by chance after the dynamite firing at the point designated as a quarry to be used in the construction of the port in 1948, is one of the symbolic attractions of Alanya.

There are columns formed in 15 thousand years in the cave, which is called Damlataş because of the water drops that continue to drip from the stalactites and thousands of beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. At the entrance of the cave, after a 50-meter passage, a cylindrical cavity descends to the floor.

It has been determined that Damlataş Cave, whose temperature is 22.3 degrees in summer and winter, has 4 different features that are good for asthma. It is known that the first two of the factors such as carbon dioxide and high humidity in the environment are good for asthma, and the other two are considered as auxiliary factors.

Throughout the year, the humidity in the cave is 95 percent and the constant pressure is measured as 760 mm. The air of the cave contains 71 percent nitrogen, 20.5 percent oxygen, 2.5 percent carbon dioxide and some radioactivity and ions.

Known as the first cave opened to tourism in Turkey, the entire space of Damlataş Cave is around 180-200 square meters. Since the thickness around the cave reaches 10 meters, there is no possibility of collapse. It is estimated that the stalactites and stalagmites in the cave, which drips continuously in 5-6 months of the year, occurred between 20 thousand and 15 thousand BC.

Phosphorus Cave , on the side of Damlataş Cave, is a different natural beauty that can be entered with a small boat and has a geological value due to its structure. The cave, which is bright at night and whose phosphorescent glows can be seen during the day, takes its name from this feature. The extraordinary lighting effects of the Phosphorus Cave, known to be ancient sea caves, are worth seeing.

Damlataş Beach is located in front of Damlataş Cave, on the outskirts of Alanya Castle. It has fine sand and clear sea unique to Alanya. Behind the beach, which has a very wide sandy beach, there are many touristic facilities.

Damlataş Cave is located in Alanya district of Antalya. You can use Gazipaşa Airport and Antalya Airport to reach Damlataş Cave by air. Alanya Gazipaşa Airport is 41 km away from Alanya town center. Antalya Airport is 125 km from Alanya. There are regular bus services between Antalya-Alanya and Gazipaşa-Alanya.

Those who are considering transportation to Alanya by private vehicle should use the Antalya-Mersin Highway to reach Alanya, which is 125 km east of Antalya. Alanya is 816 km (9 hours 40 minutes) from Istanbul, 526 km (6 hours 25 minutes) from Ankara, 595 km (7 hours 30 minutes) from Izmir.
